What are we talking about here? $450 for new clutch, new clutch and new flywheel or resurfaced flywheel? Is that with labor or just parts?

If its $450 installed for clutch and flywheel, jump all over it. You may find a better price on just parts, but the question is, even if you get it cheaper, will the guy install if for you if you buy it. A lot of shops won't deal with installing parts that you buy yourself. Some people will buy the wrong stuff and shops don't want to deal with being in the middle of a job and hitting a brick wall because you ordered the wrong kit or something.

Anyway, you need to be more specific. What exactly are you getting for $450.

OKay im getting my old 2.8 engine swapped into the new A4 body I bought, which has no engine. so in doing this, the mechanic asked me if i wanted to replace the clutch since it hasnt been changed at all. So its not like he wants 450 for the clutch job, its just alot easier since im taking the engine out. So, it should be cheaper, since the main purpose is to swap the engine not a clutch job. oh and im talking about a clutch kit.
