hi,

the trunk cover lid holder in my 2000 a4 wagon is stuck.

if it was operating normally, i would be able to push the button on the passenger side of the cover holder to remove the horizontal bar that the truck cover rolls into. however, i pushed down on the button and it broke, leaving the button is now in the down position, but the trunk cover is stuck.

seems like this might be a bad design. any suggestions on how to get that bar out?

I'm not really sure what you're talking about. Do you have any pictures?

 

See the circled area. That is the button that is broken and stuck in the down position.

not an easy one mate you will have to jimmy a screwdriver in there to release the latch

 

darn, i've been trying.

can anyone post photos of the luggage compartment cover latch mechanism? i've been in there with a screwdriver for hours without any luck.
