Default 2001 a4 starts bad, help

i have a 2001 audi a4 1.8t quattro nothing special done to it yet except a $3000 stereo. Anyways when it starts it makes this awful sound. it actually sounds like an old diesel mercedes is starting. but as soon as i hit the gas the sound stops. it doesnt really make the sound that bad in the mourning but it does any other time. the hotter it is outside the worse the sound. i took it to a local german auto mechanic and he said that the oil motor or oil pump or whatever isnt getting the oil to the engine well enough when starting. so he flushed the oil system and put in a thicker oil that wont heat up as easily. somehow i need to keep the oil cool in this 100 degree CA heat. but replacing that oil motor sounds costly. i was wondering if theres anything else i could do to fix it perhaps an intercooler. but im not sure. if anyone could shed any light on the matter it would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance if you read all this.

How long have you had the car ?
The 1.8T engine does have a rough idle.

ive had the car for a year it been making the sound for about 3 months now the mechanic said its not hurting anything, so he says itleast. but the sound drives me nuts. its definately more than a rough idle, although i do notice that too. the starting sound it makes is just atrocious like the engine is just struggling off and on until it gets goin after a couple seconds. and that harsh loud rattling diesal motor sound makes me emberassed to start my car infront of anyone. seriously sounds like its about to break down until i hit the gas.

Your German mechanic should maybe take up cooking! If the moving parts are not getting oil at start-up, then you want to go with a thinner oil, not thicker! Are you using %w-40 or 0W-40 full synthetic like you should?

i am using a full synthetic he said he flushed the system some sludge came out and then he put in the synthetic. because it only makes noise especially when its hot he was thinking a thicker oil that doesnt heat up as easily might help the noise is reduced and no longer persists when im idling at stoplights etc but it still happens right at startups and i cant stand it. sounds like my whole oil system needs to be taken apart and chemically cleaned and thats too expensive. im just a 22 year old loan officer i was thinking maybe getting some oil system cleaner and running that through the system and then replacing it with some expensive full synthetic redline oil. but im open to all your expert opionions.

Your oil temperature gauge should not exceed 225 degrees F.
