2002 Audi a4 stalling ????
Hey everyone
I have had this 2002 a4 for a while and I am about to by it off lease. The other day the check engine light went on and I noticed that the rpm's where dropping slightly upon startup then going back to 900 rms’s. I popped the hood and noticed that the vacuum hose has a huge hole in it and was sucking air like crazy. I just fixed that problem with another hose and fittings... Now does the check engine light go off by itself or does it need to be reset? Also I know that when the vacuum hose had the hole there was low pressure this might have caused the drop in rmp problems? And when can i expect this to stop, does the ecu need to adjust to the up in pressure again? Thanks for your help and also how much do the p6's suck!!! What have others put on????

The light needs to be reset. You can also disconnect the battery for around a half hour and it will go out. You may need your radio's safe code though. A vacuum leak can definitely cause idling problems and stalling. You can also take your car to autozone and have them clear the CEL too.

or i thought u could just unplug the ecu for about a half hour and it should do the same with out worrying about the radio problem
