Default 2003 A4 Sound like a decent deal?

Wondering if I could get some input on this car... Seems like a great price, surrounding dealers (in Texas) with comparable cars are asking the Bluebook range which is $25,000, so this seems like an extremely good value.

$20,750 (after negotiations)

2003 A4 FWD 3.0L
29,000 miles -- Certified w/ Audi CPO Warranty
CVT Transmission
Premium Package
Bose Speakers
Phatbox Media Player
Homelink Transmitter
Sunroof
Tinted Windows (appears to be factory installed)
Silver /w Black Leather Interior (flawless exterior and interior)
17" Wheels

The dealer also just installed front and rear brakes and replaced all 4 tires.

Thanks!

Not bad.

I wouldn't buy it though.

I would keep looking until I found a turbo, with quattro, with a manual tranny. But thats just me.

It is probably the fwd and NA engine that are bringing the price down.

moose,

If that deal is from a reputable Audi dealer, have them run the VIN through a carfax check and burn off a copy for your records...might want to do one on your own as well. If you have booked-out the car yourself and it is what you really want then that looks like a killer deal. Looks like they just want to move their inventory. But, just be aware that even though the CPO warranty is awesome, it will limit you in whatever mods you might want to make.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the input guys...

The city where I live has a busy rush hour commute, so I'd long given up on the idea of a manual transmission in this town (after once owning a standard and actually having to have dealt with the stop and go traffic). Also, the roads around here (for hundreds of miles in any direction) are generally dry and free of ice/snow 12 months out of the year, so an AWD Quattro was absolutely not a "must have" option (we can go for two winters or more without seeing as much as an icecicle).

I drove the 1.8T's initially but after being given an '06 loaner with a 2.0 for the weekend, I decided (probably predictably) to narrow my market to a 2 liter A4 -- that is, until I drove this V6 which IMHO had all the throttle response of the 2.0 (and then some) but came with a pricetag that was $9000 lighter. The most recent Carfax came back clean, leased to one owner with nothing exciting to report...

So I pulled the trigger, drove their only 3.0 off the lot satisfied with both car and price negotiated -- "apples to apples" it was a good deal less than one that can be had on ebay, I can't ask for much more. I was also able to negotiate a rate through Audi Financial under 6%, typical NEW car rates are now creeping to the 7% arena for 60 months -- just more icing on the cake.

I used to work as a dealership line tech for a few years when I was in college and I always remember the salesmen complaining this time of year, while they were on their smoke breaks, about business slowing down and how they dreaded the holiday season -- every year, without fail... This dealer seems to have a couple dozen pre-owned A4's in their inventory, I'm also suspecting that they were just happy to get one moving.

I was happy to buy it too... Audi makes an outstanding vehicle. I'm just guessing here, but you could probably spend 20 grand on a Suzuki, if you really wanted to.

Thanks again!
