A4 1.9 TDI remote locking problem
I have a 2002 Audi and its developed a strange issue, does not lock/unlock remotely with keyfobs. I have to manually open and lock it.(it only opens the driver side door and central unlocks it as soon as I put the key in to ignition) If I don't put the key in to ignition and leave the door open for more than few minutes, alarm goes off.
I have checked the followings:
no damp on the floor
battery changed on both keyfobs
reprogrammed keys
didn't make any difference. Early morning alarm goes off intermittently when I start the car and indicator flashes and alarm often goes off while I am driving.
Has standard Audi alarm systems, no modification has been done/installed.
any ideas?

Could be one of your door lock/trunk/hood switch isn't activating...if you scan it with a VAG, it will tell you which sensor is setting off the alarm in the module....your ignition switch seems to be fine since alarm won't go off when key is in......or try this:
Unlock the car with the key and hold the key over for 30 seconds (the windows will go down);
Then lock the car/hold key over for 30 seconds (the windows will go up).
Wait 30 seconds then press/hold down the unlock button on the key fob,this will resyncronise the alarm/key fobs.
