Default A4 CV joint or axel?

Hello everyone I am new to this forum. I have a 2003 A4 1.8t
Having a little problem and looking for good advice if you have had or heard of this problem. I have a split boot on my inner CV joint driver side. I started noticing a vibration a few weeks ago. It would come and go so last night I looked under the left front wheel and sure enough the boot is split. It does not make a vibration all the time. Sunday was the worst then it was fine till Wednesday and I noticed a little vibration. I turned sharp to the right and heard one bump sound, nothing when turned to the left. When I turn very sharp right I will hear one bump but only when turning very sharp just everyday turns no bump. Supposed to take it to the dealer on Tuesday next week today is Thursday. I hate to keep driving it with an opened boot. Dealer said 350 estimate on replacing boot and repacking with grease. Should I just get a cv joint kit or should I replace the left front axel shaft? Does anyone think the shaft could be bent and does this kit replace that? Any brands to look for or stay away from?

Thanks for your knowledge. any advice is indeed helpful.
