A4 engine issues HELP!!
I have a 2007 A4 estate S Line 2.0L TDI 170bhp, I only bought this car 3 weeks ago and it has been fine....up till now. the issue is as follows.
when you put your foot down through the gears, the car jutters, as if it is running out of fuel. it seems to happen as soon as the turbo kicks in. Its a weird thing, i can only explain it as if you put your foot down and the car has nop fuel and jutters! it stilll goes up through the revs but kinda jumps!
this issue is on and off.
Any help or advice would be great.
cheers

Hello,
It sounds like you are experiencing misfires. Do you have a check engine light on or does it flash when this happens?
There is a possibility that neither happen and you still get a misfire. Common causes are worn spark plugs or a bad coil pack.
If you can pin point the cylinder that's misfiring you can try a few things. First swapping out the coil packs. By moving them around you can see if the misfire moves. If it does chances are that coil pack is bad. If it doesn't it could be the spark plug.
If you need parts pricing shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to quote you.
I hope this helps!

Hi Jason
No is the answer, nothing comes up on the management system. Sorry to be a pain but how do I pinpoint the cylinder that is misfiring?
should it be the coil pack what is the cost of that? Also i forgot to mentioned that it's a 2.0L TDI if that changes anything ?

No worries, usually you'll have to plug the car in to a scanner that can pick up misfire codes.
Usually VAG-COM or a hand held scanner will be able to tell you which cylinder is misfiring.
Also, not that you mention its a TDI I don't believe they have spark plugs or coilpacks.
I'm not too savvy with diesel motors.
