Default A4 Problem: Radiator fan on while car is turned off

Hi there,
Recently I have had a problem with my 2002 Audi A4 2.0 Auto. The problem is that when i turn off the car and activate my alarm after a minute, the radiator fan turns on. It also seems to be draining my battery. Does anyone know what is causing this?

Thanks for your time
D

I have a similar problem. People are telling me that it might be the radiator fan controller module. Does anybody have a similar problem and any opinion?

This is very normal for ANY car. Your car is just cooling itself off.

Now is it just staying on until the battery dies or turning off after a few minutes because yes that would be a problem if it is not turing off.

I would say the module is the problem. There must be a temp sensor as well (to tell the fan to shut down). That might be part of the module or a stand alone item.

Same thing happened to my 08 S6 3 months ago! The fan run until the new battery was totally drained. It was determined a corroded electrical harness. While fixing the fan, they discovered the second fan was not running due to corrosion of control unit, had to replace the passenger side fan and control unit. Very expensive repair! I suspected previous owner or used car lot power washed the engine bay. I learned not to power wash anything under the Hood nor going to any car wash except for coin-open car wash.

thank you all for your answers.
the fans are running at different speeds, thats why i say it is the control unit and not the sensor.
