About to Buy a 1996 Audi A4 2.8 NON-Quattro~Suggestions!
Hey guys, I have a few questions, these all relate to a 1996 Audi A4 2.8 non-qauttro 5 speed with 135K miles.
First off, how hard is it to change a blower motor for the heat/ac on these cars?
Second, the owner says that an air line is ruptured and he said the air/fuel is messed up causing hesitation upon full throttle, but on light throttle, he says it drives smooth. How credible is that, and how hard/expensive is that to change?
Also, what things should I look out for with that year/model/motor etc.? Thanks!

this i spretty reliable car, the blower motor is under alot of stuff so im assuming thats gonna be a a pain, sure its not a fuse. also by airline does he mean the vac lines, their easy to fic and the hoses are literally 50 cents a foot. but on this car the vac lines are a jumble so make sure you get them in right. also why the hell would you by an audi without quattro. but overall very reliable car, just make sure the t-belt and water pump are replaced. A/C on these cars can go out and its a PITA to recharge because its not a standard R-134a valve.
I completely understand what you guys are trying to say like the first year model and stuff, but its kind of a long story of why specifically I am choosing this car. Infact im NOT specifically choosing this car. Heres the deal:
I have a 1996 BMW328i 4 door automatic, and its a salvage title with 108K miles. I LOVE the car to death, but im SO tired of the automatic, its driving me nuts. So I put a for sale/trade ad and I got offered this particular Audi. He's offering the car plus $1500, and its very clean. Silver with black interior and 5 speed, lowered on H&R springs, otherwise stock. Its very clean.
Please guys, im more interested in how hard the problems I listed are to fix then the cars performace and stuff, if someone could please clarify that, I would REALLY appreciate it.

how much are you asking for your bmw ?
because 96's probably arent going for more then 4 grand, if you really want to get into an a4... i'd unload your car, and pick up something later

Consider this..after you drive a stick for a year you'll be tired of it too..one should just learn to live with the auto. Lol..I'm sure that Bimmer is faster neways, even in auto.
