you could get the 2.8, it comes with more power stock, and you could just do exhaust. then when you get out of college, you could go with a supercharger. they put out some pretty solid numbers. and upgrade the suspension and looks.

 

If he can't make the difference in insurance paymentsbetween the 1.8T and 2.8, I doubt he'll be able to afford any exhaust upgrade, let alone the unpredictablemaintenance costs. He may be fine with just oil changes,but that doesn't mean something else can go wrong and he's in another $1200 over his head. Maybe he shouldget a betterpaying part time job,or drive a Golf through college.
