Air pump? Combination valve? EEK!
I have called audi customer service at the 800 822 2834, and Kimberly was helping me... Gave me some # 50045460, reference # of some kind. She needed me to go to audi first, get the car inspected, then call her back. I think.
No worries, I appreciate all your help. I was hoping to get this 100% covered, seeing as how the car is JUST ouf of warranty... but who knows, Kimberly said to not get my hopes up. She gave me a 40% chance of getting what I wanted. But, she said since I am the 2nd owner, that could be the nail in my coffin. Cedarbrae talked with agincourt, and agincourt seemed to think getting 50% of the work paid would be a good bet. But yeah, 50% is still almost 500 bucks... for emissions! I'd be halfway to an exhaust with that kind of money
Doesn't look like I'll be getting my wheels anytime soon either... If i get this paid for, I'm buying a VAG tool. Screw paying 90 dollars a pop for every check engine light... seeing as how 12 million things on these cars will throw a code.
I still love the car though... it's just breaking me financially. Sweet! Anybody want to buy a camaro? I've got one for sale, and could use the cash! haha

Hey Chris
Ok the servive manager and myself just butted heads for a bit and i'm pushing for you but since we have no history record of any of this cars work we couldn't really see anything and like you said since you are the second owner it will be hard what he suggests was we will do the work here and you could go after Audi to try and get rembursed sorry bud I was really pushing for this one this is still a good option though let me know what you think also if you do decide to get the work done here I can help you out with the part prices let me know

What kind of prices would I be looking at for the Air pump, and combination valve?
Also, how much would owasco need from me to repeat the procedures that Cedarbrae did? Like, would I be able to do the half an hour labour thing, just so they can hook the car up to the comp, and print it off? Then I can call audi, and hopefully get something set up. The thing with getting it fixed now, and going after audi COULD work, but I dont have 900 bucks to spend on it... I'd sooner leave it until emissions was due.

yea I know what u mean about the diagnosis it would still be a hour at $91.95 but like I said about the parts the air pump retails for $345 I can sell you it for $288 the combi valve retails for $177.00 again I will sell it to you for $141.00 and another $20 for a fuse and gaskets now the labour just to replace these parts is 3 hours at $91.95 now if you want us to diangonis it it will be another hour on top of that so your total is without diagnosis is $724.85 but again if you want the diagnosis its another hour so it would be $816.80 taxes not included sorry I never quote prices with taxes it just makes it that much more scary
Hmm, I think what I'll do is take it to agincourt... that saves me the 45 dollars for now.... I wont leave it with them though, I just want the damn code's pulled at an "audi dealership" so Audi customer service cant shoot me down again. If I get 100% coverage, then sweet. If I get 50/50, I might just buy the parts from you, and install them myself. If I get no help... then I'll buy the parts from you, and install them myself... hehe. Either way, I can save almost 300 by installing them myself. I dont care if I'm under the car all day, I'm a student, so money is a factor.
Thanks for all the help, it is greatly appreciated! I'll let you know what happens at agincourt.

hey clconversion. I was just wondering if you are in the Toronto Area. I was reading the posts and you and headshok were talking about Agincourt Audi, so I am guessing you are in the area. If you are, do you work for a mechanical shop or a parts store? What I wanted to know is, is that I have a 99 2.8 Quattro with 157 000 KMS on it and I want to flush the transmission fluid and put NEW fluid in there. I dont know if that could be done or not, if it can be done, do you guys do it? Cause I am looking for a good mechanic/parts shop in the Toronto area that I can trust. Queensway AUDI has been taking my cash for a while now, and I dont know if I keep that up..
Thanks
Thanks
