Airbag light is on
About10 daysagowhen I started up my car, the airbag light came on. I though it could be some sensorbeingunstable, just gave some time and it might go away. Now it has remained on for a while, looks like something had to be fixed. Does anybody have such problem before and can kindly tell me how big the problem is? I also want to know howbad it could be if I just drive on with it.
Thanks a lot!

Dun dun dun... Another one bites the dust....

There is a electrical wiring harness under the passanger side seat. If its kicked or moved around it can make your light come on. In fact, Ive had that light twice, and it happend ONLY when I had some people in the back seat. So their feet could have kicked it or something. But it just went off eventually. The other common spot has something to do with the ignitor for the A pillar air bag. Cant remember the details. Try searching "air bag light."

hi my name is michael its the same thing with my car i went to the dealer they said you have to change the sensor so dont worry you can drive like that the air bag will work on inpact if you want to fix it it going to cost you around 800 $ include the parts all best michael
well, it happened to me couple times, it was because of the harness plugs under the driver's seat, however I had to reset the airbag couple times to find the problem. if you have a vag-com, that will make your life easier. try looking at the connections under both seats and reset the airbag, it is not gonna go off unless you reset it. the airbags should still work unless the airbag light blinks. god luck!
Ditto with my car. I moved the seat all the way back when I was cleaning the car once, and it must've pulled the harness a little too taut, and partially "separated" it, triggering the light. If you're going to reset it, you might want to first secure the harness. Someone did a writeup on how to remove the seats - if you follow that, you can access the harness and zip-tie it around the connectors to hold them securely. Then reset the light - otherwise you may reactivate the warning light if you do again whatever it was that tripped it the first time. Once I have the time to mess with mine, I'm going to do exactly that, then borrow my buddy's vag-com and clear the light.
