Alarm System/Automatic Lights Feature Question
Thanks - have S4 door blades on order, and will post new pics once I get them painted and installed.
The switch is on the brake pedal itself. They tried "adjusting" it the first time, and this accomplished absolutely nothing - the very next morning I woke up to lights on and a very weak battery. The second time they replaced it and it's been fine since.
Next time you are out driving at night, pay attention to the glow in the rear window and see if they are on while driving (I would pull the pedal up with my foot for temporary relief, which worked only sometimes). If you see your ESP light come on and stay on, they the system is reacting to the brake switch indicating that the brakes are on continuously. I never got the point where it became a safety issue, but who knows what might happen if you let it go too long...

it is on the brake pedal and works opposite of what you think, the switch is pushed in and off when no foot is on brake, when brake is applied, pressure is off the switch and it turns on.
I don't have my car manual with me but I could swear that I read something about rear fog lights and that they are controlled with your light switch. Not sure if this malfunctioning or not but I figured I would bring it up.
