Ok so i filled up yesterday, and i get in the car and its says 0 left on Trip, im like WTF, in guessing its the sending unit from the tank, ive seen a write up for it somewhere but cant remember. At least im thinking thats the issue if any one can give me the directions on how to do it.. TIA

 

0 left on miles till empty you mean? If your fuel gauge is working, just try pressing the button under/on the winshield wiper stalk to reset it.

 

Nope fuel gauge is stuck on empty as well, was up to the E mark then its gone past it as i drove around, OnPoint its outside the car to reset the trip PC drivers side where abouts??

There is a recall on early B6's for the fuel pump I think, and it might be worth finding out if the level sending unit could be associated with that. On the B5's there is a button on the bottom of the windshield wiper stalk/lever by the steering wheel that lets you scroll through the different readings (mpg, miles till empty, on/off,etc.) Your button might be on the bottom pannel ofyour gauge cluster though. But if its the fuel gauge thats wrong then its probably the fuel level sending unit.

 

Soiunds like sending unit is stuck.
