Default Any battery recommendations?

Looking for a drop-in replacement with minimal adjustment necessary. I was told I need a need a new one during my state safety inspection, although the car starts up perfectly well. I just don't want to be stuck on that extremely frozen day mid-winter. Any reason not to go with discounters such as Walmart or Costco? Low pricing is pretty important for me. Thanks...

What would have told them I need to replace the batter? Is it low voltage?
