Hello when driving around the city streets I get this noise in side the car. It is coming from the rear. I cant quite figure it out. I get out of the car and push on the trunk and work on the suspension and hear nothing. Today I sat in the back seat and bounce up and down, it sound like the gas in the gas tank was making all of this noise. Does anyone else have this or an opinion on what the noise good possible be. I wouldnt think that gas moving around would make this noise. Any help would be good. The car is a 1996 Audi A4, thanks

 

could be the fuel pump or the filter but mine does that and not a problem because its a V8 so its the sump pump which is normal on big engines to keep the fuel moving because they need it more than the 4 bangers for smoooooth driving

 

Mine makes a gurgling sound when i start it and has a constant whine but the gurgle goes away after a few minute.

 

So does mine. Is that normaL???

Yea as far as im concerned.

I prity sure its just the pump priming. I have not noticed any problems with it and im running 15-20psi (depending what gear)

 

Its the fuel pump, should be normal. If its excessively loud then its probably on its way out.

 

My fuel pump is silent from inside the car. Could be a failing pump.. They can be noisy for a long time before they finally fail. Doesnt mean its not doing its job though.

 

Try to look at thread - wierd noise from the fuel tank???!!
