Default Ashtry Removal (Automatic Transmission)

My question seems pretty obvious, I dropped something behind the ashray, and I cant get it out.. I've had this happen and the dealer fixed it for free, but this time... I dropped one of the radio removal tools behind the ash tray (I was trying to hookup a bension ipod dock)... I dont even know how I lost it but that doesnt matter.

I have searched for removal on how to get the ashtray out, but everythign I found told me how to remove the ashtray if i had a manual transmission. I found a post that said to push up on the metal plate around the gearshifter on my automatic A4, but when I pushed up... nothing happened, can anyone tell me how I can remove the ashtray on my Automatic 2007 A4?

Thanks

Pry the trim piece around the shifter out starting at the rear. The whole thing comes up, not just the part around the shifter.

So if i take the plastic that ends where the ashtray starts, and pull that up, it will come out, thats all I have to do?

Thanks

Yep. It just clips in place. NO bolts holding it down.
