Audi A4 ?**Bad Oil Leak**?
I recently purchased a used (1996 Audi a4 2.8L Quattro v6) The guy wanted $6000.00 I got him down to $5000.00 I took car for test drive everything was fine. I ask him if their was a oilleak he said yes. I asked how much he said about a quarter a month. We got back to his house, When he moved it forward thier was a huge puddle of oil.
I have come to think it might be Oilpan,Oilgasket or gromet for oilpan.
However, I am unfilmilar with Audi (mind you this is my first car) My friends brother said Audi Quattro can leak from numerous spots.. and it might be gasket's on engine. I took friends with me (2) they said engine looked & sounded fine.
However they have 0 expirence working on Audi's.
I wanted to know if any of you guys had similar problems or any suggestions or anything that can help.
Car is 1996 with 118K Miles

I've never seen a car that leaks good oil
Could be something as simple as a loose drian plug (doubtful). If the drain is stripped, it may be able to be retapped. A big puddle of oil is worrisome, eg cracked oil pan.
Make sure you take it to a shop that specializes in Audi/VW

check your external lines (oil cooler and filter). i have seen failures there, also rev the crap out of it and see if it starts smoking from the bay that will determine the type of leak you have. whether its internal or external. like david said its best to clean everything and see what got dirty again.
