Audi A4 2001 white smoke from left side of engine
Hey guys,
Not sure if anyone here has experienced this before but I thought I'd ask just in case. I noticed white smoke coming from the left side of the engine yesterday and everytime the car stopped it would grow. I smelled burned oil mixed with some rubber but I thought it might be one of the tubes underneath the car. When the car was in drive (it's automatic not stick shift) no smoke was coming out. When I stopped the car to check, I noticed it was leaking and it looked like thick and dark. It was not the engine oil since that looked to be fine from checking it. I did not see any buttons pop up on my dashboard so I have no clue what it might be. Suspecting it's the gearbox oil but again not sure. Any thoughts? The car experienced a bump on the road when I was driving but I was going 5km/hour, it was a bad road however so it might have cracked something. It worked fine for about 2 hours then the smoke started coming out. Any help is appreciated! Thanks
