remember..you're comparing an AWD turbo-charged car vs a RWD naturally aspirated car.

Of course we're going to say Audi..and they're going to say BMW. That's a given. But if you're wanting to mod..get the 1.8T. The AWD will handle the extra power better..esp. in the rain. And you're not going to get the same amount of power out of a CAI and exhaust on the NA Beamer as the 1.8T.

I'd get CAI and exhaust, chip, etc..but its a 3.0 NA V6..totally not worth it from what I hear.

SocalAudi's right...go drive both! My sister took her 2003 A4 3.0 over a new 328i hands down..she said it was no comparison. The BMW dealer was like "go ahead and test drive the Audi..I'll see you back here..cuz there's no comparison." She was like.."you're right..there wasn't any comparison..The Audi's much better."

The 300WHP MR2 didnt have a backseat And no, I never drove it aggressively in the rain...but I'm not really a fan of driving aggressively in the rain in ANY car...that's just askin for it.

I could not afford the new 3.0 A4, it would be a '99 or so. The Bimmer is a 2.8 liter engine, but you have to remember that it comes stock with a bit more torque and HP than the 1.8t.... The audi would certainly be safer in the rain, Quattro is a very nice feature to have! I really need to drive them back to back...that's a given...again I just wanted to know what made you guys choose your A4's. I would love to go back to the MR2, the T-tops alone make the car a blast even in N/A (I've owned both ), but I just need a practical sports car, hence the German world of vehicles.

Well then compare beamers 2.8 to audis 2.8. The beamer has 193hp and 206 tq while the audi has 190hp and 207 tq. Not a big difference. If you want to modd though your going to run out of room with the Bmw or Audi 2.8l. While the 1.8t is virtually endless.

Good comments here from everyone.

It depends on what you are looking for Gibson.

The bmw's are nice too, but I do see a million of them here in columbus.

The 1.8tq is a great car. It handles great in any condition, puts the power down well, and has a whole world of potential compared to the NA's.

The only problem with the audi is modding it is very addictive, so be sure to start an extra savings account to save up for a BT kit!!!!!

Search for the "tom ritt video" on this site, and you will see why we reccomend the Audi over the BMW!

Good luck to ya.

I looked at the APR K04 kit with the chip and APR exhaust and everything for $4k...is that about what it would cost to switch to K04 with the right chip and get it breathing right?

There is nothing like the 1.8T's potential and the a4's good looks. The a4 has the 328 beat all over the place imo.
