I thought only HP was crank and wheel rated? Well I guess it makes sense that TQ would be too.... What would the APR chip make at the wheels as far as TQ is concerned?

quattro awd and the feel of an audi is much better then a bmw 3 series IMHO. Alot more sportier as well, I would be willing to bet Id run circles around my dads bmw 3 series vert. As far as mods go I dont know german car performance that well but as far as stock goes Id take my Audi over any BMW or mercedes any day.

I've driven a 96 328IS with rims/suspension, and I own an A4. There isn't much between the two in terms of driving pleasure. I like driving my car as much as I like driving my friends Bimmer.

I have one advantage, though: with just a chip, my car is faster. And has the potential to be a LOT faster

I mean I've driven both and that's about how I feel...I personally prefer a two door, but the INITIAL tuning potential of the Audi is greater. I know guys with FI BMW's that will take down modded S4's, but I'm talking about putting a couple grand into the motor and calling it a day

240 @ the crank, yes, but not at the wheels.

Also, I don't think APR makes ko4 software for the 1.8t.

APR does NOT make ko4 software yet . They are coming out with it within the next few months for the B6 .

I have the APR 1+ which makes 235HP/275TQ on 93 octane.

If you want to mod you car , get the Audi . Its much easier to mod then the N/A BMW .

What have you done to your car besides a chip to put down those numbers? And how does the car know which octane your using...that may be a stupid question but I always run Premium in turbo/high comp cars so I would have assumed the chip was just designed to run on Premium....

well i dont know how bmws tune, so its hard to say. i know with my turbo that i will smoke tons of 3 series car. and if youn are wondering i have a kit like on rennarts webpage. but that will cost you a lot more extra than 4k. also, if you go KO4 or anything bigger you might want a different clutch. id also suggest to piece your KO4 kit together. it will save you a lot of money. people sale KO4s brand new all the time in classifieds on audizine.com and other places for good prices.

BMWs are nice, and so are audis. i live in Seattle and bought my audi because of the quattro and because of the modability of the 1.8t. with either car you will be happy!

BTW, got a link to those BMW forums. i want to check out some of there cars and get some info. my buddy has a new 330 and doesnt know anything about his car, but he still wants to mod it.

ok, my girlfriend has the 3 series and i have the A4, her car is very cramped feeling compared to my car and the seats are very stif. having quattro is great in rain or snow especially compared to rear wheel drive, ive raced a 325i with intake and exhaust done and i jumped ahead and pulled slowly and that car is faster than my gf's, which i can beat also, the ride feels harder like you feel speedbumps more but her suspension doesnt seem to fight body roll as much as mine, she has had her car for less than a month and i have had mine for 6 and she has already put over 2k into repairs and i have put 500 for a transmission service and some fluid seals while they were at it-all of this was precautionary, the audi also has much more headroom and bigger trunk and more legroom. mcuh cheaper than a 328 e46 too, go with the a4 join us haha

i think in bimmer lingo x means all wheel drive which you dont see much on 3 series, c means coupe, i im not sure, first number is size and second is engine size, except a 323i has a 2.5l
