I know this is an old thread but this nugget of info could help. Investigated my problem,(water under passenger side front and rear footwell, UK car so left side of car if facing forward). Water had submerged an ECU in the footwell. This I believe controls the windows and alarm, locks etc. I found that the water was coming from left side "A" pillar under the window. On checking noticed that rear window water sprayer was not working at pull power. On testing this system with carpet up in left footwell found that a small pipe hidden within wiring coming down pillar had come adrift. Every time I tried to use the rear wash spray it flooded the footwell. Water is able then to flow easily under the carpet though resesses, into the rear footwell. I have glued the pipe and taped it, and it is secure. However This has now caused another problem. The rear wash wipe does not work and when I use this water flows from the area near to the left rear wheel. I believe this indicates that the piping is blocked and another joint is undone somwhere by the taile gate (I drive a A6 avant). Story continues. I hope my story helps someone JC in UK.

I have taped my sunroof seams shut on the roof with ducttape. See if that helps before I proceed.

I have an 04 1.8t and i'm warning y'all now if you haven't already ... replace all visible hoses and check the ones you can't see too .
I've had to replace all those plastic hoses since owning my a4 and i've only put about 10k miles on it . 136k miles total now .

I like that. Difficult to count the leaves on the floor in winter time though.

Default 2001 Audi S4 Water Leak

Hello,

I am new to the Forum tonight and was reading your threads. Purchased a 01 S4 with my son yesterday. Got it home and power washed the engine, etc.

Found the driver side and rear seat foot area loaded with water this morning. After reading some of these threads took off the cowling in front of the windshield and found 3-4 inches of standing water under the master cylinder next to the battery. The drain for this area is directly under the master cylinder which was clogged. Took a small piece of metal coat hanger and cleared the drain in 5 seconds. Guessing that the water was flowing up behind the master through the fire wall at brake pedal shaft and into car under the rugs. Maybe there is another leak somewhere, but I am guessing that this was 90% of the issue.

Time will tell.
