Hi I jus got my '99 2.8 Q and i was thinking about getting a new sound system
but im just wondering if the audi symphony is the stock system or if is an upgrade.

 

it's stock and it has alot of bass

 

its stock but its upgraded. concert is the base stock model and symphony is the upgraded one.

If you upgrade the stereo you'll have to upgrade the rear speakers also since they use some weird amp system.

The symphony is...alright? The only pro is that it has components up front. If you just add a sub and upgrade the front speakers the system will sound alot better.

 

you can jus add a mono amp and a sub for some thump in the trunk. thats what im doing. and i only have the concert system and i have the loudest system out of all of my friends

 

Just get a line out converter if you want a sub. Thats what i have. A line out converter is 25 dollars at any bestbuy, or Circuit city. Then you tap the wires in to the speaker form the line out. And from the line out to the amp.

All you need is a line out, soldering gun, Amp, sub. And common knowledge.
