I have owned a 2001.5 VW Passat 2.8 4motion since new. It has 147k miles on it now. I absolutely love this car BUT it has been a money pit. I know that the A4 shares several common parts with the VW. Is there any reason to believe the Audi will be more or less reliable than the VW?

 

Basically the same cars, except the Audi hsd s better interior and fancier features.

 

Thats what I figured but JD Power lists Audi a lot better in reliability??????

 

That is because they haven't driven them over 100K miles. lol
My next door neighbor is a manager in an Audi dealership and has never purchased an Audi for his own use, although he keeps driving around in Audi's on loan from his work place. His assessment is that they become money pits once the warranty is over.
