mine did something similar... was the fuel pump,., old trick that may or may not work but take out your rear seat and turn the key on.. if u dont hear the fuel pump prime or whatever it does.. thats it... also you can get a friend to tap on the fuel pump with a screwdriver or something and it might kick on for a second, then u know its the pump... worked for me....

i had no codes....

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have not recieved a recall notice in the mail, but will call Audi America tomorrow to see if I qualify. I looked up the recall online and my car matches the model the recall is for, so hopefully I can get it fixed with no out of pocket expense *crosses fingers*. I will let you know what happens.

I contacted Audi about this problem, and they told me my vehicle was not covered in the recall, even though the recall covers models with the exact same specifications and features as my car. There is, however, a pre-owned certified warranty I can make a claim under, but since they do not show me as the owner of this vehicle I have to submit a letter in writing to complete the warranty trasfer in my name, and there is a $150 transfer fee that I must pay. Total crap. I will fix this vehicle, sell it and never own another Audi product ever again.

thats ridiculous... im glad there is plenty of car makers otherwise you would be out of vehicles to buy... if everyone went by that philosophy.... cars are mechanical!!!!! its normal for them to breakdown from time to time!

ford 150 --ac pump
mazda rx7-too much to list
toyota tacoma-powersteering pump
vw jetta tdi (airbags deployed)
audi a4- fuel pump
dodge diesel p/u starter (only 1.2 million miles though)
mercedes e420 radiator/transmission
03 tahoe/02 avalanche..dont even get me started on those POSs

ok i think thats all i can remember off hand... but if i never bought a car from any of those manufacturs again??? that would rule out quite a few

You're right, it was more frustration than anything, but the fact that I'm stranded without a vehicle right now and have to pay out of pocket expenses just to transfer a warranty doesn't help my situation. Any american made vehicle I've ever owned, whether bought from a private sale or dealership, honored their warranty at no charge to me.

this is my second VAG product and i cant stand my dealership! they are POSs! when ibought the jetta tdi, they offered me $9k on a 1yr ol dtruck that i paid 26k for ! KBB was 22k! i think they were high?

so i bought it somewhere else... at 60k miles i hit a pot hole and it deployed my side airbags.. they of course told me too bad/out of warranty... called VoA and it was covered in the end but after several arguements and rude service ppl

then i take in my audi for the free oil change... well its free cause they dont do it! i scratched the black painted filter witha pocketknife before i went in and when i got it back.......... same scratches....

however i love the cars but they take a unique love and attention and know how to keep from being completely fucked over...
