Default B6 Rearview Mirror on a B5

Hello,

Do you guys think that the really cool B6 rearview mirror will work on a B5 model? I really want that compass and the better dimming capability. I really feel that its the only thing that my 2001 S4 is missing.

My current rearview doesn't seem to dim at all and certainly doesn't have a red compass.

You comments are appreciated.

Thanks,
RCF

The only thing im wondering is the number of wires going to the mirror. I think theres four. Power and ground for the auto dimming mirro and power and ground for the compass. I think your vehicle will only have two. Power and ground for the auto dimming.

Well, wouldn't ya think that they both 'devices' could run off the same power source? Ya know, considering that is is low voltage and the devices only require miliamps to operate.

I think I might try this and then let you all know what the story is.

Later,
RCF

They probably could. I was merely pointing out that i dont thinks its a simple plug and play conversion. It may take some rewiring to work.
