Default Battery options...What's a good replacment?

I'm in need of a new battery. I am welll aware of the advantages of the Optima brand and it could be my first choice, but I have a question regarding fitment. My '99 A4's battery is much longer than the stock size and the mount in on the end. Is there any modifications that must be made to get an Optima mounted securly? Any other recomendations for battery replacement?

TIA

That's what I got this morning. I've been pop starting mine for a few days.

I had to get out and push that b!tch in the rain this morning, which finally pushed me into getting the battery. I think the total was $71.XX.

Oh an the VW/Audi battery was holding a whole 5.76 volts when I tested it.

Besides the possible radio code problem is there anything else I should be aware of when changing the battery?

I had no problems with my 96, but I have a Pioneer HU. I did it in their parking lot and drove off.

My Chiton Manual says, plug a 9 volt battery into the power socket in the console to hold voltage for the radio and ECU.

Anyone who's put an Optima in their car, what was your method of mounting it? I found I can get one of these for a pretty fair price right now (I know a supplier real well). Think I might go this route since my past experience has been very good with Optima. Thanks for the replies so far.

If you get one, just make your own battery tie down. Just make a simple thing from home depot materials.

I decided to go with the Optima. As I figured I needed to fab up a mounting bracket, no big deal. Two side effects I noticed was that the Radio turned on when I hooked up the new battery... the keys weren't even in the car. This cured itself after starting the car the first time. Second thing was the windows needed to be "re-programed" by runing them completely down and up two times. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
