Default Battery Replacemennt

Icould use some help. I just replaced the battery in the wife's 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro. Started car and ESP(Yellow Triangle) light remains on. Tried turning steering wheel lock to lock, which turns light off on X5s after battery is disconnected. How do I get the light to turn off on the A4?

Thanks,
drs

Replaced battery in 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro. Since battery replacement, the ESP(yellow triangle) light on dashboard stays on when car is running. How do I turn it off?

Thanks, drs

makes perfect sense. apparently you can turn the warning light off in BMW X5's by rotating the wheel from all the way clockwise to all the way counter clockwise.

drs: is there a switch for the esp somewhere on the dash or console, if there is, then hit it... otherwise someone else needs to help you, i dont agree with traction control on all wheel drive cars.

ESP relates to the DBW system. DBW system components are everything between the gas pedal and throtle body. Id try a throtle body alignment since you are supposed to do one after the battery has been disconnected anyways.

Thats EPC.

Drive the car and the triangluar esp warning light will go off. Otherwise there is a problem witht he system.

^ agree the system needs to relearn but if it stays on it might need VAG to reset it or disclose the fault code
