The Best Airbox Mod? writeup with pics..

Actually for the worse... Car sees more air being taken in, so it may add fuel to the ratio to compensate (via MAF)... I haven't given it much thought, was just pondering.

Way ahead of you!!! I drove from Mt. Shasta to Roseburg (400mi round trip) on 15 gal of 92 octane on this mod the day after I did it!!!! The K&N may have helped but I dint care, also note that this was the day after I did the mod and yes I was stoked to be able to hear the turbo!!!
ya.. since this is stickied.. we need to get a couple of the posts from the video post in here also.. for example.. onepoint8tee's screen he made will also be an awesome option for this mod.. but some may not see it since its in the other post.. ill try to get him to post it over here as well..
Here are all my pictures:
Note that the little generic window with metal screen was $5.00 which was a lot less than any roll of screen available. I just broke the frame off and cut it out. I put screen on both sides of the air conditioner filter and then cut it down to the size/shape of the cut out part of the air box hole, a little bigger though so it doesnt get sucked through. Double sided tape to hold it in place on the wheel liner, then the air box sits on it. I used new foam for the bottom of the air box. Sorry I didnt document it all. Thanks to Beer Mod and A4 the quattro for ideas. Why do I have a feeling Brrman is going to come out with something whack that blows all of ours away and we will have to buy new air boxes???
It says it on the bag, but the filter i used is a quarter inch thick.

lol .. ya man this **** happened to both my friend fender liners on my MR2 .. luckily my Audi is in 4x4 mode at the moment.. dont have to worry about that one
Due to the fact that I have not had any issues with the screen for the box mod I will wait till it snows here to test the guard I have been working on. For those of you that think you need it now I would use the TT liner it is very close to what I'm doing. Thanks to all of you and goodluck with the mod I'll have the snow guard ready before winter hits.

Stick around I have more comin soon!!!! lol
