Ok so can someone tell me if the below PRO's and CON's list is correct?

PROS: better throttle response high end, louder turbo, DV sound, better intake sound (growl).

CONS: less pull on the low end, risk of moisture, cutting holes in things, heat soak.

please add to or take away from the list as necessary.
You wont have a risk of moisture if you do the screen right. But everything else sounds about right from my experience. The less pull is really only noticeable from 1k-2k rpms or so. Probably not a big deal if you have manual, but more noticeable if you have tip.

been 5 months with this mod and i have no problems at all. Still love the sound. + tunnels are great. for the cons i can say i have had heat soak. Just have to get a fmic. Heat soak happens w/ or w/out this mod. hydro lock i am not even worried. this mod is cool in my book

Heat soak can be described in a few different ways. Its actually a pretty broad term. But basically it happens most when ambient temps are high like in the summer and the intercooler is unable to do its job of cooling the forced air from the turbo to the intake manifold. A FMIC may help with heat soak, but using one with a k03 is normaly not recomended because of the pressure drop. Although there are a couple people on here who use a FMIC with their k03 and have good things to say about it. So I cant say for sure if its the best solution to heat soak at least with a k03.

Heat soak affects your performance like how a wet wash cloth dries your face.

^^^ hahah nice anology!

onepoint8tee: would you recommend drilling holes in the drivers side wheel well to vent the intercooler? I know this is controversial. i think the TT or S4 has it would it help the intercooler at all?

People have tried that and didnt really notice a difference from what I know. There just isnt enough air flow in front of the IC to create enough air flow past it to go out the holes on the opposite side. And there is a line i draw when drilling holes into my precious Audi [&:]

you know how the lower grill on the IC side has that black plastic intake ram that I'm guessing brings air to the IC? could you do something like that to the other side to bring cold air into the turbo side of the engine bay for intakes and/or cool off the turbo a little?

Not really, because the 2ndary air pump/horn/AC condensor lines and whatever else is in that area would get in the way.

forget the mod and fit a K&N panel filter then expand the air intake scoop on the front of the car ( cold air is best from the front of the car ) be damned if you do or damned if you don't all is worth a try

you mean forget the airbox mod? how would you go about expanding the scoop? I have the K&N already, you think you could fabricate something to funnel more air to the scoop?
