Default Big trouble.

So, I got my new key from the dealer today since I only had valet key when I bought the car. As soon as I got home I programmed the remote. No problems so far. I locked and unlocked the car. I even popped the trunk.

I went inside and waited a few minutes before I had to leave. I stuck the key in the ignition and the car wouldn't start. I tried it again and no dice. I did notice the little immobilizer light flashing on my dash though. Apparently there's a chip in my key? Not happy.

What do I do now?

Valet key still works, but new one doesn't. WTF. Do I need to take it to the dealer and have them program key for my car now?

Anyone?

I don't really feel like taking the key back to the dealer to have them program it if I don't have to.

Anyone else had the electronic immobilizer come on?

You need VAGCOM and the keys SK umber that shuld be in a white tag if not then you will have to get the dealer to do it.
