Well if you guage reads 2-3 when the car is off, then your guage is screwed up and isn't accurate. Some guages have the ability to be reset, others do not.
If you got it second hand, you are probably SOL. If you bought it new, call the place you got it from and let them know.

Ok so i changed the gauge tonight to another one.....this one is reading 20vac at idle....15 psi in 1st and 20 in the other gears....
WTF? is this thing chipped or what??

Sounds like it is... Does it feel a little ballsy??? Stock 1.8t's lack *****.... Try this: Pull up to a Honda accrord 4 cyl. ask to race because you are conducting a test. If you beat him, you are chipped.
