Brake pads and idiotic machanics
This might be in the wrong section but its about my a4 so, if it is mods do your thing.
So i went to get my wheel bearing replaced last week and he tells me it will be 125 for labor and 60 for alignment(i supplied parts) so i go back the next day and go to pay and he tells me the total is 311. I had figured tehy would do this so I told them no(sorta) and we worked down the price. he told me he miss quoted me. so i take my car out and leave. you ever get that fealing that something is just wrong. well i had it and i was right. so i'm on my way home and about the time i get to my house i pinpoint my attention to this grinding sound. It sounds like metal on metal and its comming from the brakes. so the next day i call em up and tell em i got a problem so they tell me to bring it in. They take it off turn teh rotor( cause it was pretty F^) and put it back together. So they come and tell me that the problem was that the mechanic had stuck the brake pad on inverted. Honestly i've changed alot of brake on alot of different cars and never once have i even seen a way that you could invert a brake pad. so whatever i take the car and I'm going home and over the next couple of days i hear the same grinding but not quite as loud. I look at the rotor and theres 2 grooves in it. SO right now i'm pissed that its still F^. so I'm calling em up tommorw and I'm tellen em they have one last chance to fix it before I start replacing parts at their exspense. And on top of all this they didnt do my alightment, I paid them to do that the first time. I mean as it is right now i could make a U-turn hands free. so i'm really pissed off right now and well i hope this **** gets fixed real soon.

Go back there and demand that they replace that rotor and fix whatever else is wrong at their expense, and don't leave till they comply. They were trying to rip you off by over pricing you then fvcking up your car so you gotta come back to them. Speak (rip him a new one) to the manager and demand they solve the problems immediately.
Here's a hint when dealing with high-dollar service industries and auto places in general....they will screw you if you LET them screw you.
Start showing up with one additional person every time you go in - they'll get the idea.
No? 2 people.
Still no....okay, go down to the shop to discuss, but now with three people.
If you get to 4 - 5 people total and the guy is standing his ground, you're not going to win - take it to small claims.
