Default bulb wattage ?

I just bought some headlights and they're all japanese (raybrig), they say 55W ---> 100W. Is that bad for my electrical system? I know people have said that the higher wattage h7 bulbs will fry your electricals, but I'm thinking my bulbs only draw 55W, and have an output (or claimed output anyway) of 100W. Just want to make sure before I install them.

I believe 55W/100W means it uses 55 watts and produces near double the light of a normal 55 watt bulb.

Resistance should be 2.6 ohms not 1.4 ohms.

Sounds like some marketing mumbo jumbo. A bulb can't be 55 watts and have an output of 100 watts. You get what you pay for, and most of those japenese gimmick bulbs are crap.

Compact fluorescent bulbs give off more light than standard bulbs with the same wattage.

Well yeah a xenon capsule puts off more light than standard bulbs of same wattage...but we are talking about halogen bulbs.

Filaments can vary: material, length and thickness.
