Default A/c not cooling

I have an 02 audi a4 1.8t the a/c won't cool on it was recently recharged and has no leaks. the compressor is coming on and off like it should. but the high pressure side is hot then once it passes thru the orfice it gets somewhat cool like it should just not as cold as it is supposed to. replaced the orfice today and made no difference. after a few minutes of idling the high pressure line gets hot on both sides of the orfice. i hooked a gauge to it earlier and the pressure spikes from around 45psi to about 110 every few minutes. anyone got any ideas? or had a similar problem? thanks for any and all help.

High pressure switch, that goes straight into the passenger side A/C condenser is toast.

Are you talking about the one that is behind the driver side headlight

Default Correction -

It's behind the passenger side headlight. You might also want to check the freon pressure also. Too much will shut the compressor motor off.

There isn't one on the passenger side. its on the LEFT side of the car. and screws into the condensor. i searched on the passenger side for a while and finaly come to the conclusion all the ppl saying it was on the passenger side must be driving from the right side of the vehicle.
