cam position sensor position?

i've searched til im blue in the face[&:]...im convinced that my question is sooo easy that its common knowledge to everyone else. i've read the post where it is suggested to clean the CPS before replacing and seeing as how it came on once, then disappeard for a couple days and then came back, i would like to try cleaning it...i just dont know where its at.

also can anyone suggest a shop manual for our cars

Cam shaft pos. sensor is on the right/front/top of the engine right behind the timing belt cover. You can see the wiring harness for it on the side of the engine. There should be 2 metal clips holding the top part of the timing belt cover on. Unclip them and pull back the cover to expose that SOB. A Haynes manual is a good cheap book to start with for most basic stuff. Then there are more complex manuals like the Bentley manual or Elsawin.
