Rather ghostly but whilst driving the main beam headlights activate without warning. The only indication that the main beam lights are on is the blue dashboard indicator. Using the lighting stalk by changing positions cures the problem temporarily.

Whilst back in the garage at home and left unlocked the lights come on without warning thus draining the battery. To stop this happening I must push forward the lighting stalk and leave it in this position as this appears to stop the lights coming on.

In all cases the light switch has been in the off position.

My own conclusion is that that there is a short within the lighting stalk located on the left of the steering column.

Has anyone had a similar experience and what are the fixes? Thank you
