Default car bobbing when i shift

is this normal for a 01 a4 with sport suspension? Do these cars kinda feel like a toyota solar (floating over the road) or do i have a problem?

w/ sport suspension you should not float (bad shocks). I have stock non sport, i bob a little, but not that much.

Get some new suspension.. coils, or h&r w/ billstien./Koni

stand at each corner of the car and bounce the car the suspension should not bounce more than once in fact it should be quite hard with the sport suspension

Is it possible to get the bobble sensation if the clutch is going out, and not getting a strong grab when the power is delivered?

no you would just notice the clutch slipping, the grab would not happen on a worn clutch plate unless it was an oil leak from the input shaft seal but you would see that

Springs dont normaly wear out as fast as the shocks do. After a LONG time they may get weak and sag a little, but they will probably be good for 200k miles or more before they start to corrode which is normaly the begining of them going bad. Springs are cheap though, and if you get the right shocks to go with a lowering spring why not replace em too? If you are just replacing the stock shocks with new stock shocks i would keep using the original springs. I replaced the struts on my 96 maxima a while back with 120k miles on the springs and reused them and the car handles like new and ride height is within spec.
