Default Chipped?

Ok, first I am new on this forum and I am from Montreal Canada. I have a 2000 1.8 TQM bone stock (k&n drop in filter and splitter DV). The other day I was on the highway going 120 km/h and a 2.8 a4passes me in the right line.My friend tells me there's no way I can follow himso I decided to follow him just for fun and then he decided to launch it so I downshift in 4th, he was trying to pull away but I kept pushing behind until I can pass him at about 200 km/h. My question is how can I know if my car is chipped since I have no boost gauge. I purchased the car recently to an audi dealer so I don't know about the previous other than he took really good care of the car.

well if the 2.8 was a 12valve.. then thats understandable

if you are chipped, there will most likely be a sticker on the ecu from the company that chipped it like giac or apr

I got mine chipped, and I noticed that as the turbo spools up you feel more of a sudden rush, a peak in torque, standard it doesn't really have that.

The car was definitly not chipped at that timebecause I recently swapped my ecu for a mtm chipped one and I can really feel the difference, alot more fun but three weeks later, I feel like I need more power.....very addictive. Like Lazer Vicking said, that 2.8 probably was a 12v.

I also noticed the top end revs felt better, smoother when chipped.
