Actually 80% of the stuff you mentioned does not make sense and is false. Dont worry about the throtle body boot (mattr??). There is a lot of bad info circulating on the forums lately and im not sure why. All you need is the chip and a DV. Bosch710N ($35)is the one you want if youre not trying to spend a lot. A chip doesnt make your car any less reliable. Since you have an 03/B6 there is a big injector file available which can get you another 70ish hp.There is no tip chip available for your car yet. AWE tuning is trying to work on it and you might want to call them to verify, but the B6 tip is not as sluggish as the B5's. You dont need to worry about a level10 tranny upgrade unless you go BT. After the chip and DV a higher flowing exhaust should be next on your "list"-nothing else. A test pipe will help you but if your state has emissions tests forget it because it replaces your cat. You can go through the twisties just fine and better with a BT... wtf?
QuattroA4 get your info straight if youre going to try to help someone out. That has got to be the most F'd up post i have ever seen...
LOL, i really wanna meet you. your a pretty intelligent guy when it comes to audi's and you know how to tell people their not correct without making them feel retarded or not wanted. besides that....

everything onepoint8tee said is correct.... no tip chip is available, its not even need til your BT so dont trip. Chip and DV should make you a happy camper.

My eyes hurt. Anyways-

1) Is it bad for my car over time?
Not really. Just make sure you take care of you car's maintenence and you'll be fine. Also, don't drive like a jackass.

2) Do I have to change other things like my axels since i will have lots more power?
These aren't Hondas. All you need is a diverter valve.

3) What brand softwareshould I get, GIAC or APR?

Whichever dealer is closer. If you have any issues, they're close by.

Apparently they haven't made a chip for your car according to onepoint8t so I have no clue who gave you these "Quotes" on pricing... Did you not tell them you are TIP? Cause it does matter, you gotta be sure to list every little thing that makes your car different to these guys or you could be mis-quoted or mis-informed. Just be more careful next time, but now you know.
he was talking about the tip chip.

when you say TIP CHIP you mean a CHIP for TIPTRONIC auto trans? Because on APRs website the prices for the chips don't say specifically if they are for manual or auto trans. And when I called a shop to get a price quote for an APR chip they gave me a $500 quote and i told them i had an auto trans. So maybe the chip is ok for both transmissions???

The only tip chip available is made by GIAC. GIAC also makes an engine chip like APR for $500. They are two seperate chips. The tip chip is $350 I think.

cool 411 thread.

I have an A4 and been trying to plan out my upgrades. down in miami I still haven;t found a shop that works audi's.

But everyone here and local have told me the same, CHIP, DV, Borla.

they also told me something ahout the DV that if I take off the glue, silicon on the screw and turn it 1 and 1/2 turn it will give me a boost. ?!?!

Biggest problem I been having is finding parts local like air-filter and wipers non in stock.

but this thread hooked me up and about the FAQ and Search. Interaction with people is the best, if someone post a question and someone other is willing to help and give his IMO more power to them, if no one cares to answer to bad to the poster.

IMO :

I have an APR stage 1+ in my B6. I upgraded the diverter valve and i also have a k&n filter and a Milltek Eshaust system. The car is great. I havent had any problems with the car and the torque is just awesome.

APR has a nice setup at the 12hrs of Sebring race every year if your interested. You park with the Audi club and wile you enjoy the race and walk around they tune your car.I dont know about driving North to Sebring but the ride South From Tampa to the track is a lot of fun twisty back roads with no Traffic.
