Does the Audi automatically turn on the heater or air conditioning based on the temperature outside? I turned on the heater/air conditioning to auto the other day and left the temperature to 21 degrees and I noticed that heat comes out of the vent. I checked the temperature outside and I noticed that it was a bit chilly at 5 degrees. Yesterday afternoon I turned the heater/air conditioning to auto and cool air came out, while I noticed that the temperature outside was 26 degrees.

 

once you put it on Auto, Audi will take care of it. it's got a temperature sensor for the inside of the car. it uses that to regulate the AC/heating.

 

once the AUTO is pressed, is it set as default that the heat comes at full speed?
first time i pressed AUTO, the heat came blasting at maximum level that i shyt my pants

auto just gets the car to the temp you asked for, the reason it picks vents is because some are more effective than others at either heat or cool... and a/c and heat for the defrost.
