clutch??????

Default clutch??????

I am in need of a new clutch, on my 97 b5 1.8t and im going to order one tomorrow...but can anyone tell me what kind of a job it is to put in the new one? like how many hours and wheather or not i have to take the engine out, or just the trani off? please help

have fun, this is a labor intensive job. I think that you would only have to move the trany back some, or maybe pull it out but none the less, alot of work.

I would hope you have some pretty good experience and tools for this one. Good luck though. Hey drkenan, you not too far from me. Most everyone seems to be from Cali. good to see someone else from nearby.

my advice would be not to do it yourself unless you've done it before and are a skilled mechanic

definately think about taking it somwhere. it's a BIG job, and if you do it wrong it'd mess up the entire drivablity of the car. there's a bunch of clutch and tranny places with independent mechs that'll work on your car for ALOT cheaper than the dealer, just make sure they work on Audi's cause some places wont.
