Default Clutch Help Please

Hey guys I just bought my audi like 3 weeks ago. I rebuilt the K03 turbo and all and got an entire timing belt kit/water pump/oil pump as well. Im replacing it all this weekend as the car has 100k miles on it. I wanna get a new clutch but remain with some decent smooth driving. I am going to chip it eventuallyand do all the clutch work myself (im pretty good with working on cars). The thing I dont know is how good a stage one is seeing as iI have never delt with them b4. Is a stage 2 still smooth when normal driving or will a stage 1 be ok for more performance but everyday driving. Also has anyone ever heard of F1 Racing and if their clutches are good? Thanks

Hey there buddy, i have the stage 2 setup from awe, which i think ended up being a SouthBend setup in an AWE box. I honestly cant tell any difference between it and whatever clutch was on there before, i presume stock but i got my car with 100 k on it. I hope you plan on doing the clutch with a lift, its a bitch on jack stands just fyi, i did it like that [:'(]

if you want to be able to launch it correctly get a stage 2. a stage 1 will hold the power fine, but not really launch as well

doesn't matter bout number of times. to launch it properly, i would suggest a stage 2 but i have no experience with their stage 1.

what they list on their site

stage 1- tq capacity- 220
Rally kits contain a modified high performance pressure plate and heavy duty organic disc. The linings on this disc are premium woven medium metal content lining. This facing has a 9000 RPM burst and dissipates heat quicker then any other organic lining on the market. This kit generates 1/3 more torque then stock. Also included in the kit are a throw-out bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool.

stage 2- tq capacity- 290
TZ kits contain a modified high performance pressure plate with a heavy duty Kevlar® lined disc. The metal backed Kevlar® linings provide a smooth engagement and have the torque capacity to handle high horse power, high revving engines . These clutch kits maintain a stock feel at the pedal and have unmatched durability. Also included in the kit are a throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool.

Front and back of metal backed TZ Kelvar® lining. The steel backing gives this lining the ability to spin up to 12,000 rpm.

i would spend the extra 70 bucks for the peace of mind
