Clutch problem.
Hey guys I wanted some experienced opinions because I am new to the audis.I actually bought two in the past 6 months for daily drivers for me and the wife.
Anyhow we were in the wifes 99 A4 and we went up to the ski slopes and in the way hope the car did not move. When you put it in gear and release the clutch nothing happens except for a slight grinding noise and the speedo moves a tad.
The thing that boggles me is that in any normal car I've had, when the clutch starts to go bad it shows signs like slippage, etc. The audi never slipped, shifted perfect, and all of a sudden this happens it just straight went out.I was hoping that there could be a possibility of a bad slave cylinder. Anyone experience a clutch that just randomly blows out like this?
Thanks for the help guys it's really appreciated.

Yeppp same thing happened too me u arent alone....one day i went out side tryed to get it into gear wouldnt go in seemed like the clutch went out of nowhere? soo now its in the shop getting a new sachs performance clutch on it.
If you can get it in gear and the car was fine before with no problems, check to see if you have a broken axle. A busted axle will make your car not move at all even though your clutch is fine.
Get under there and check it out. I talked to one guy that said he didn't even hit any big bumps or anything, it just broke all of a sudden and left him stranded and his car had under 50k on it I think.
