i was driving my 1996 a4 1.8t yesterday and stopped for red light then my car jus decided to cut out on me at 1st i thought it was fuel so topped it up still wouldnt fire. Then made sure it was getting fuel through, tried towing it to pull it through incase of any blockages still wouldnt fire. Have removed fuel pump and it seems to be working fine. no engine or hazard lights came on just wondering if anyone has any ideas for me????

 

Do you know if the fuel filter has ever been changed? They can clog up over time. I'd change it out - best case it's a fix, worst case you've headed off a future problem. For $18 or so it's good maintenance.
