Default A couple different questions...

The other day I was driving down the highway and around a turn my ES light started flashing and the car seemed like it was losing power...Now I read in the manual that the light flashes when the ES is no longer in control....I've hit this turn several times and have never had the light flash....what should my concern be?

Tonight I was coming off the highway, I stopped at a redlight and I could smell a faint burning smell....like when your car is overheating. I looked at my temp. gauge and it was right in the middle and it stayed this way until I got to a gas station. While I was filling her up, I popped the hood and I could smell the burning scent...it wasnt over powering or anything it was real faint....so I got back in the car and started driving, while driving I noticed my temp gauge went from the middle over two bars to the cold side....and it kept going down towards the cold side...I have never noticed anything like this before...any clue what this could be?

i think they are unrelated incidents

that light usually comes on when cornering too hard, nothing to really worry about

and the coolant thing. you could have a leaky gasket or somethign like that (look around for leaks and stuff)

Don't know what ES is or why you would be loosing power dude but my temperature guage does the same exact thing, as far as the smell goes I think a faint smell is probably normal after driving around for a while..

^ES is, "electronic stability". Thanks guys....it is kind of cold outside right now, but I live in Florida so cold for us is like 65....I thought it would have to be more extreme to make the temp. gauge go down while driving down the highway. I'll check out the leak thing as well, when I was under the hood at the gas station my fluid looked kind of low...

lol blinker fluid

as for your problems, you were just taking the corner a little hard, nothing to worry about. and the faint burning smell could have just been your clutch, if everything with your coolant checks out.

and ya i used to think 65 was cold when i lived in boca, but the other night it was 17 degrees[:-] may not seem like that big a deal to you northern guys but i almost died lol. weird thing was tho, that in 10 hours the temperature went up 60 degrees[&:] fl weather is retarded
