A couple maintenance questions
Ok, just a couple questions. I went through the search option and didnt find exactly what my problem is.
Awhile back my starter went out and I got that fixed. I thought that was the original problem, that it just went out. Well the starter got fixed and everything worked fine. But then a couple months down the road I had the same symptoms right before the starter went out the first time. Minor electrical failure. Lights wont work, brights do. No windshield wipers, things like that. Radio, works fine, so does the windows and sunroof. And the battery reads fine when I do try to start the car, so I know thats not the problem.
So my question to all the gurus out there is, what do you guys think is causing an electrical problem to fry my starter? Ive read somewhere, theres a fairly inexpensive part and fix that originates in the steering column. Is this true?
Second problem. Ive got a leak I imagine in my hydraulic fluid hose somewhere because I find myself having to purchase new fluid and regulate it at least once a month. Is this a cheaper fix, or do I have to redue everythign, new pump, hose etc. Basically when driving it sounds like ive got the wheel all the way cranked and im putting pressure on it even if im making a small slow turn.
Thanks for any help guys. And I apologize for any length.
