ok so heres he deal the day thanksgiving break got out i was sitting in my car idling in nutral, cluth out and all the sudden the car stalled..(over the past few days before this incident the car had trouble starting but it would start) so after it stalled i put the clutch in and tryed to start it, didnt work so i sat there for about 2 hours looking at the engine just dumbfounded buy what it could be... and basically i think its the crankshaft sensor but im not sure and i need help on where to locate the crankshaft senor and what i have to do to replace it. i have a 97 b5 audi a4 1.8t... about 3 weeks before this i replaced the clutch and fly wheel. i went to a spec stage 2 cltuch and a 12lb fly wheel. and im wondering if that could have anything to do with the crankshaft sensor coming lose and or falling off.. the engine turns over but doesnt start... please help me

 

If it is the crankshaft sensor, you shoul have a CEL. Give us the code.

 

Is there a way to get the code with out a scanner??

apparently he cant start it dude, so going to autozone is out of the question. check for spark man, after verifying spark, check the fuse for the fuel pump.
