I just bought a 97 A4 2.8. I wanted to put on an exhaust and so far i have only found one, and its not a full cat-back. I was reading around and every one is stating that the Magna Flows are so far the best sounding. I was wondering if I go custom, where would you recommend to start the exhaust pipe from. I dont want to be ricey, I just want a nice deep tone exhaust. Thanks.

 

Most 2.8 exhuasts are "axel back" - I would replace the hole setup from just infront of the mid muffler/resinator. You can just put the muffler in, but you would most likely want to put in a magnaflow resonator to - to kill the noise a little

 

2.8s usually sound pretty good no matter what you do exhaust wise since they aren't small displacement motors.
